Oscar Party Round-Up

Oscars 2014

They’re here! The Oscars are finally here. If you’re anything like me, you realize that the Oscars are not only a joke, they’re pretty fucking exclusive (see a deeply depressing infographic on the matter here), and yet… I LOVE THEM. I absolutely adore the Academy Awards. I cry during nearly every speech, I have a blast checking out all the red carpet fashion, I desperately attempt to win Oscar polls, and I try to attend an awesome party where everyone nerds out as much as I do. Luckily, I have found such a group (I basically just stalk Alexei‘s friends) and have been counting down the days to my friends’ soirée for weeks.

If you, like me, are getting ready for an Oscar bash this weekend, never fear! There’s something for everyone here, from the baking queen to the movie novice.

Make-Ahead Treats

Oscar Statue Cookies, YumSugar

Oh, you fancy, huh? Bring these festive cookies to your friend’s Oscar party and you’ll win some serious points. Just make sure your host isn’t already making them!

Film Reel Cupcakes, Make Life Lovely

Throwing your own Oscars bash? Try one of these elegant, gilded ideas: film reel cupcakes, glittery Oscar ballots, tuxedo chocolate covered almonds, and more.

Oscar Worthy Appetizers, Freutcake

Some parties rely on themed snacks. This round-up of Oscar appetizers focuses instead on the nominees themselves! Jennifer Lawrence totally would eat mac & cheese cups, too. I mean, who wouldn’t?

Buttered Popcorn Cookies

You can always make some of my Buttered Popcorn Cookies, too! Easy, unique, and theme-friendly.

What To Bring

A bottle of wine! Or, if you prefer another beverage, bring enough to share.

A printable ballot! Most hosts will have their own, but you never know.

Cash monies! And/or your predicted winners. Get in on that Oscar poll.

Let’s Talk
