Let’s be real – Valentine’s Day can be pretty stressful. For some reason there’s this social expectation for everyone to find a way to enjoy it, whether you’re a brand-new couple, madly in love, happily single or just a little bit lonely. For those of you who craft, this holiday can be so much more than a box of chocolate hearts. (I, sadly, do not have the “craft” gene.) Many men and women love to shower their loved ones with gifts and glitter, while others ignore it entirely. No matter how you celebrate, there’s something for everyone (yes, even non-celebration).
Last night Jamie and I had Galentine’s Day drinks and appetizers at a new Japanese spot in West LA, The Backhouse, and I arrived home to a DIY Valentine from her! A very cute example of how some people do valentines right. (If you like crafts, fashion & DIY check out her blog, Paint the Gown Red!) As for me, I’ll be having burgers from my favorite gastropub and date spot, The Bowery, and seeing A Good Day To Die Hard with my favorite man (sorry, Bruce).
I wanted to share few things I found for everyone to enjoy on this Hallmark holiday. Just remember: If there’s someone you care about, you care about them all year. Don’t let your coworker’s ostentatious bouquet of roses or absurdly overpriced dinner plans get you down! It’s just another day.

For LA dwellers, spend your V-Day at LACMA with Kubrick!
And if all else fails, you can always watch PORNOG with your buddies.
